Book: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.
Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister's place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before--and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love

I have been waiting to read this book from a long time, and you can imagine how excited I was when I finally got my hands on it! With all this excitement and anticipation, I was afraid to be disappointed. Fortunately, my excitement over this book was totally worth it, I would finish way earlier if I wasn't so busy with work and my trip preparation. I finish most of the book in one go and that only means that the book is a page-turner! The story happens in the future cruel world of Panem, a country that makes an annual game that called The Hunger Games. A reality TV show on boys and girls fighting each other to death and the victory for who survives at the end! The main character, Katniss, is a part of this game along with Peeta, a boy from her town. The book is a mixture of Sci-fi and romance.. I guess that's what we call it these days Young Adult Fiction! I'm not complaining, I love this type of books, anyway! I enjoyed the book in general but I still have few things that were not so convincing to me. I'm afraid to spoil the book if I went through details, but I'll try to explain this vaguely. I had the feeling that the author was just making up stuff to make the two characters together, I'm not convinced with the sudden change of circumstances that happens to be on their side! Either way, I'm still eager to read the rest of the series!
I kinda fell in love with the book !
