Volunteer to Open New Doors ~ التطوع يفتح أبواب جديدة ♥

What is volunteering? And why do we volunteer?

I will share my experience in the volunteering world, and it might answer these questions above.

Volunteering is when you work with an enterprise or a company for free. It doesn't sound exciting but once you try it, you will understand the good thing about it.

First, you get to work in the field you know best.

Second, you don't need an impressive CV to get accepted!

Last but not least, you get an experience which you can add in your CV.

Let's not forget the moral side of volunteering, is to help and work in your choice of company to give back to your community. To be actually needed! And maybe, meanwhile, you would discover new traits about you.. new skills you didn't discover before!

ماهو التطوع؟ و لماذا أتطوع؟

بشارككم اليوم تجربتي مع عالم التطوع و يمكن من تجربتي هذي نلاقي أجوبة للأسئلة اللي فوق

التطوع لما تعمل لشركة أو منظمة بدون مقابل. في البداية كلمة بدون مقابل ماتحمس، بس لما تجرب العمل التطوعي رح تفهم ايش هو المقابل الحقيقي للتطوع..

أولا، لك الاختيار بانك تعمل في المجال اللي تحبه و تختاره

ثانيا، ماتحتاج خبرة و سيرة ذاتية قوية عشان تنقبل للتطوع

وآخيرا و أهم نقطة، بانك رح تستفيد خبرة تقدر تضيفها لسيرتك الذاتية

طيب خلونا نشوف الجانب الإنساني للتطوع.. لما تساعد و تعمل بنية عمل الخير.. لما تعطي مجهودك للمجتمع و شاركت فيه.. لما تتطوع في مكان، فكر إنهم فعلا يحتاجونك! و وقتها رح تكتشف نفسك اكثر و تلاقي مهارات ماكنت متوقعها في نفسك أو ما اعطيتها فرصه انها تظهر!

I started this new journey with Alf Khair, a social enterprise that has a several initiatives that aims to help the community, to educate them and empower them for better chances in the future. I was a part in one of those initiatives, Alf Hewar, which is a conversation between two change makers in a specific field. And by that conversation, they aim to inspire, educate and empower individuals and small start ups in that field.

I gained from that experience a lot! I met new people who are inspiring and motivating. I learned new things about myself, is that I really enjoy translation, I can work for long hours and I like working with people! I came across a new thing that called Life Coaching (Needs a separate post!) and tried one session and it was an eye-opening!

بدأت رحلة التطوع مع منظمة إجتماعية غير ربحية اسمها ألف خير.. تقدم مبادارت تساهم في خدمة الفرد و المجتمع، هدفها المساعده و التثقيف و التشجيع لمستقبل أفضل.. شاركت في وحدة من هذه المبادرات و هي ألف حوار و تقوم فكرة المبادرة باستضافة شخصيتين مؤثرة في مجال معين و يتحاورون مع بعض و مع الجمهور بهدف توعيتهم في هذا المجال و مساعدتهم في بدء مشاريعهم.. شوفو الموقع عشان تتعرفو على ألف خير أكثر.

استفدت من تجربتي الكثير.. تعرفت على ناس ملهمه و مؤثرة. تعلمت اشياء جديدة عن نفسي و اني احب اترجم و استمتع بالترجمه كثير و اني اقدر اعمل لوقت مره طويل و انبسط بالعمل الجماعي!
كمان تعرفت على مفهوم جديد، تدريب الحياة أو إرشاد الحياة (يحتاج لها بوست مستقل) و جربت جلسه عشان افهم ايش يعني إرشاد الحياة، كانت تجربة رائعة و فتحت لي عيوني على اشياء كنت غافلة عنها!

How to Start?

You want to volunteer but you don't know from where you start.. Just go to Twitter and search in #volunteer hashtag.. you will find so many results! I really advise you to follow @SaudiTakatuf

Find the organization that suits your interests and fits your time-schedule. I will share some organization at the end of the post you can contact for volunteering opportunities.

مو صعب ابدا تلقى جمعية تتطوع فيها خصوصا مع التويتر و الهاشتاقات تلاقو فيها كل شي.. مع هاشتاق #تطوع تلاقي فيها اماكن كثيرة تطلب تطوع. و انصحكم كمان تتابعوا جمعية تكاتف ، هي جمعية سعودية تهدف بنشر ثقافة العمل التطوعي و تنشر يوميا فرص مختلفه للتطوع للذكور و الإناث!
