Let's share our BookLove ♥

Unlike of most of the girls who has lipstick and a makeup bag in their purses, I always have a book in mine. I'm a passionate reader, and my happiest times are always the days I spend in a book store. No one in my family understand, I'm an outsider in my own home. The problem is, I'm a restless person. I shift my position million times while I'm reading and it's tiring. So, I've been thinking lately if I would ever have my reading spot! A place or position that is so comfortable you want to stay in it for hours and just read. Does anyone have a reading spot? As it wasn't hard enough to find me a one in real life, I couldn't find the perfect picture to describe what I have in mind.

I don't have certain reading rituals but I always love to read first thing on the morning or whenever I wake up. I think it's a good idea for exercising my brain and start a new day. And I usually have a cup of coffee while sitting with both my legs on one side and my back up straight. Then, I get so sore and start shifting from sitting up straight to laying on my tummy.. then my back. Honestly, it gets so frustrating. The same thing happens if I was reading on my bed. Sometimes, I wish if I could sit on a cloud that hugs my body, and I could rest my neck and elbows whenever I switch my position. I know, it's impossible. A girl can only dream.

I'm curious, do you have the same problem, if it's a problem in the first place,? Do you guys have a reading spot? When and how do you usually love to read?

And speaking of.. Let's talk books. What are you currently reading and how do you like it? And what books you're dying to get?

reading.. She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb

It's going quite well for me. Although I can't stand Dolores but I feel so sorry for her, she is going through more than what she can handle. I can't wait to know how things are going to work out for her. I don't know what to say about it, I'm afraid I would spoil it for you.. All what can I say, it's worth the read!

What about you?

  3. I love this post, since I can safely say that I very much relate to it. Reading is what got me through hard times, my escape from the brutality of reality...fueled my imagination, stirred my emotions whether it was laughter or sadness, anger or content..reading makes me feel human. That was a bit melodramatic, but I meant each and every word.

I carry this small moleskin notebook, where I have a list of books/comics I would LOVE to add to my mini library...alas all the books I want are no where to be found (in the bookstores I go to...tragic). I end up buying a book, I didn't plan on getting. This whole process, is what makes reading even more enjoyable.

I don't know why, but I can't read whilst on Vacation. I just can't stay still, to complete a whole chapter, let alone a book! In the Summer, I choose poetry/short stories/blogs that way, I can finish it without feeling guilty. Best time to read would be in School days, at night. I would crawl into bed, switch on my reading light (the one that gets clipped on the book...awesome) and read. I could go on reading for hours, till early morning sometimes...no distractions...no noise...everyone sleeping...high AC..that's all I need. I used to read in the toilet (in the tub fully dressed of course), since that used to be the only place no one would disturb you, up until my mother found out...now every time I stay longer than usual, she bangs the door and asks if I have a book in there. True Story.

PS: Sorry for the long comment :$

  4. Ah, I just love long amazing comments, don't be sorry at all, I enjoyed reading every word of it. Let me say that you have a talent in writing, I like the way you write <3

I do the same but I usually use Goodreads.com or my BlackBerry to write my to-read list, and boy how do I enjoy listing stuff wether it's for reading or not!
I hate the bookstores in here especially Jarir, it's a disgrace!

LOL I got to buy this reading-light thing, I need it! I love to read in bed but I share my room with my sister and she has to turn every single light source off before she goes to sleep. It's annoying!!! But I will try your way, it sounds amazing! In school days, I read in my way to and from school. Sometimes, I don't notice that I'm there till my driver tells me so xD

Another thing, as much as I love reading, sometimes I take a break from reading a book. I usually put down the book for a while before reading it again, and it happens with every book I read!

Loved your comments, I wish there will be a lot of them soon!

  5. Awww, thank you. You're way too kind. <3

I tried using goodreads on BB, it just embarrassed me, till the page opens and everything. Fadeee7a gidaam el rabi3 and I love listing anything too! Did I give you the listing fans site or was it GeeMad (I have short term amnesia man, not cool) let me know so i can link you if not. Oh and I her ya about that sister, same thing here, she even hates my reading light that I have to put the blanket on top of me, till she starts snoring, then I can breathe again. Omg yes! Reading on the way and back from school, Shay 3ajeeb, i would be in literal trance, the would talk to me and i wouldn't hear a thing, someone has to nudge me for me to notice.

Would you believe if i told you, your Jarir is better than ours? I've been to KSA last year and thought it was way better compared to ours. Tragic.

Blog added to feeds so expect long comments, you have unleashed the long comments monster....Commentatron! (I just made that up) :P

    Have a good day <3

  6. LOL then you just have to write the list on your BlackBerry notes so you won't have to open Goodreads and wait for it to load xD

Do you mean Listography? Because I already got it :p I saw it in your page and I just fell in love with it, I add stuff everyday. Listing makes me feel good and organized.

I just can't believe that our Jarir is better than yours!! I've been in Dubai once, and gosh there was this little bookstore in Ibn Batota, I forgot what it's called. It's not one of the big famous bookstores but gosh it was amazing and the shelves were stacked with every author's books!!!!! I know you're not in Dubai but I gotta say it xD

YAAAY xD I'll try to snap out of the lazy blogger mood I am in and I will post new stuff and let the Commentatron play :p

  7. Oh, I'm reading it already! but I gotta put it aside cuz we've started our semester! =(
I'm not really into novels these days.. but for some reason I don't know, I found this one interesting! Glad to know that someone that close is reading it and liking it!
I was thinking that I'll throw it away, like what I exactly have been doing the recent while with every book.. It's hard to find sth very interesting as fiction..
    Loving what you do here!
    Keep writing.. and posting <3

  8. Oh you were reading She's Come Undone!!! How do you like it?? For me, it was eye-opening and such an easy read! It's not what I thought of like a ground breaking novel but it wasn't so bad either. I don't want to start about the main character, it's been hard for me to fathom all the hate I had for her althought I was supposed to be sympathetic! Whenever you're reading something new or even read about a book, don't hesitate to share!

  9. Sure!!
Will be so glad to share "our" books love whenever I get the chance to read one, including She's come Undone ;) I'm still in the beginning btw, so that I didn't read all the post xD the pic just grabbed my attention immediately! I was like OMG someone had read it too.. wow!! O_o

My last visit to Qatar, I found his first book "The Hour I First Believed", thought of reading it in order to get to know him as a writer, but had second thoughts that most writers get known by their secnd and third works, when they become more trained and skilled at writing, so they learn to grab a wider audience.. at last I decided, let's finish the one in hands first, ba3dain feeha 2alf 7allal xD
I'm sure I'll come back here again to share what I think of the book :)
    ~*~ Peace ~*~
