Personally, I thought the movie was sweet and light. The story is about two lesbian mothers, Annette Bening and Julian Moore, who have been in a long-term relationship and have two teenaged children, Joni and Laser. The balance of the loving family gets shaken when the donor father comes in the picture, who is played by Mark Ruffalo. Julian Moore and Annette Bening are now nominated for Golden Globe's best actress performance in comedy or musical picture.
